Interview with J. W. Fisher concerning his experiences as founder of Fischer's Meat Market in Muenster, Texas. Fisher discusses his family background, farming and public education in Muenster, the establishment of the meat market in 1927, and the expansion to include groceries in 1933. He also speaks about the effect of the Depression in Muenster, the production and marketing of Fischer's Sausage, the opening of a retail store in Denton, Texas, and a description of deer processing. Fisher describes the business volume, the sale of the business in 1975, his views on government regulations, his civic activities in Muenster, and the company's dominance in the area food markets.
